Brazilian Rusty Slate is the keynote in this collection. Every piece we work with is unique and seems to be more spectacular than the one before it. The slate color ranges from austere, subtle grays to splashes of orange, yellow, green, red and brown. There will never be two pieces exactly alike, therefore each item we make with this stone will also be unique. The design concept behind these clocks is the synthesis of three texturally and substantively different materials: raw stone, brushed metal (aluminum or copper), and glass (vitreous enamel). Juxtaposing unrelated elements and materials is a theme that is carried through much of Scott Gruber's design work.
